It's early (very) morning in South Miami.
You'll usually find me on the sidewalks and in the streets taking my daily walk. I try to get in 5-to-7 miles a day.
I've always been a morning person, so that's the best time for me. I started my daily morning walks after my gym closed because of the Covid-19 Pandemic. The gym closed permanently so my walks have become by major exercise activity. I listen to news and music as I walk. Keep an eye out for speeding cars and distracted drivers.
On my morning walks, there are other folks walking and running. There are those who wave, those who don't. And after a year, there are those who stop for a quick chat.
I see neighbors out waking their dogs. Some with their dogs on leashes or no leashes at all. Then there's the professional dog walker with many dogs on many leashes.
I see cats of all colors and sizes and a few other fury little animals that scurry along trying not to be seen at all.
And since it's South Miami, there are lots of peacocks and other feathered friends flying and waddling along.
As I've walked my neighborhood and others close by, I've seen signs announcing birthdays, graduations, college destinations and other life accomplishments. I've seen signs of encouragement, signs of support for various causes.
I've seen new entries being built on houses. New roofs going on. New pools being installed. Major renovations being undertaken. And, new construction, including what looks like a two story Chickee hut.
I've seen the for sale sighs go up. And watched them change to pended then closed to not there anymore.
So for the past 180 days here's what has closed in the area of My Walk
